1 Corinthians 9:24 (New International Version)
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
I cannot stand running. However, I am very proud of the one in our family that does. My daughter has worked hard this Cross Country season to finish 4th in her last meet of the season. As I look at her pictures (and video I took) I am reminded of several verses in the Bible that challenges us to run the race… the race that God has marked out before us.
Just as runners need to train and do those things to help them cross the finish line, as Christ-Followers we need to do the same thing. In this blog I would like to teach you a word that I created to help me… “THROWRUNFIX!” This word comes from Heb. 12:1-2.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV)
THROW off that stuff that hinders us
RUN the race God has for us with perseverance
FIX our eyes upon Jesus
Godspeed as you RUN the RACE & THROWRUNFIX!!!
Run the Race!!!
