*Being a Christian in our Culture….*
First, You have *Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) *which says,* “Ye shall not
make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks
upon you: I am the Lord.”
But there are other verses from that passage that says things like verse 19
(Look it up…)* What’s the correct stance? What about ones done before
making a profession of faith?
*What/Who are you giving Glory?*
The verse in Historical/Cultural Context: The Israelites just left Egypt.
Egyptians had a practice of marking their bodies to worship/honor kings and
deceased relatives. In short, it was done to worship something other than
God. Today, some get tattoos to glorify themselves. Examine the heart
motive. Remember that Paul wrote about such things in Romans 14. It might
not be an issue to you, but a huge issue to other Christians…
What do YOU think? (and can you properly back it up in the Word of God?)
