Healthy Youth Leaders: Give it away

image

Youth leader, what is your passion? What is it that  makes you endure drama, politics, the “mess” of ministry to week after week, pour into these students?  If I had 50 youth leaders in a room and asked those questions, I would have many different answers. That is OK.

God has wired each of us to approach youth ministry in different manners, based on our strengths and weaknesses. God has also wired us to work together to build on those strengths and encourage us beyond our weaknesses.

So, I’ll ask again. What is your passion in youth ministry? Where can you use “that one thing I do” to further God’s kingdom work in your community? Meet with your local network of youth workers (if you are not part of one, you can get connected at nnym.org) and talk about what you bring to the table that you can use to build each other up.

Maybe it is training, a skill, or experience that you can share. Maybe it is resources. In a future post in this series, we’ll talk about ways to share resources for kingdom growth.

Give away what God has given you.

We are better together.
