A biblically grounded shepherd committed to faithful expository preaching, prayer, discipleship, evangelism, and spiritual leadership. We seek a man of godly character, theological maturity, pastoral compassion, and biblical vision who will lead collaboratively and faithfully serve Christ and His church. About Our Church UBC is a congregationally led Southern Baptist church family on San Antonio’s northwest side, committed to God’s Word, the Gospel, and making disciples. Founded in 1978, UBC values expository preaching, life application, missions, and equipping believers for ministry while faithfully serving its members, community, and future generations. About Our Community University Baptist Church is located in northwest San Antonio near Shavano Park, Leon Valley, and Helotes, and close to the South Texas Medical Center and UTSA. The church serves a diverse community shaped by educational, medical, business, and military influences. With a strong openness to matters of faith and the Gospel, UBC has a significant opportunity to reach its neighbors, make disciples, and expand its ministry for Jesus Christ. Qualifications A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a call to pastoral ministry. Meets the biblical qualifications for a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. Ability to effectively preach and teach God’s Word. A demonstrated passion for sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and engaging the community. Ability to lead, equip, and inspire church members to serve in ministry. Responsibilities Biblical preaching and teaching. Lead outreach efforts that connect the church with the surrounding community. Provide spiritual leadership and vision for the church. Work alongside church leadership to advance the mission of the church. Shepherd and care for the congregation through prayer, visitation, counseling, and discipleship. Two video or audio sermons files (one delivered in the last three months, and another within a year on the topic of the Gospel). Can be sent as an email attachment.
