Lead Pastor for New Hope Fellowship Church Winfield, Kansas, United States Denominations: Not Associated/ Have a traditional Congregationalist order Church Size: 50 & growing Job Type: Full-Time or bi-vocational Employee Workplace: On-site (3 Part Application Information) #1—THE OPPORTUNITY New Hope Fellowship Church has been in existence since 2008, with an average Sunday worship attendance currently of 35-45 people every week. The church’s mission statement is to Proclaim Jesus Christ, Grow in Faith, and Share Life around the Gospel in Community. NHF is an open–country style rural church; Biblically- based, elder-led congregation with deacons serving alongside, in accordance with the church constitution and by-laws. Various ministries at NHF include a midweek Bible Study, intergenerational Sunday Study, monthly Men’s Breakfast Study and Ladies Tea Study Times plus summer hosts of the National Bible Bee and Centershot Archery programs. We are very mission minded with participation in many levels of local and foreign mission fields. Besides providing message for sermons on Sunday, previous pastor has conducted weddings, funerals, and care visitations. New Hope Fellowship is currently seeking a Pastor that is called by God to shepherd the congregation with sound doctrine, and expositional preaching to work alongside the actively attending congregants to promote a Gospel-centric culture in the life of the church. We wish to grow deeply in relationship with the Lord individually and grow spiritually in community with one another as scripture shows. #2 – THE COMMUNITY Winfield, Kansas is in the south central area of Kansas, approximately 1 hour drive from Wichita, KS, having a population of approximately 11,777, and is surrounded by various communities in the county of Cowley 34,496 with similar populations on the Kansas Flint Hills. Winfield is a balance of agrarian-based community with conservative leanings and small business based industries. A vibrant downtown community helps to make Winfield a self-reliant, clean, and safe community to live in. The congregation at NHF consists of an older base with younger joining us who are committed to serving the local community and civic organiza- tions. The community includes various services such as a hospital, preschools and schools (public, parochial and homeschool) plus a 4 year college, assisted living and long-term care facilities, an aquatic park, skating rink, theater, and sports complex plus many community health gym facilities opportunities. Hunting and fish- ing for the sports enthusiast, many nice neighborhood parks, golf courses, and various other attractions pro- vide plenty of amenities, as well as healthy-living options for all. #3—THE CANDIDATE New Hope Fellowship is looking for a pastor who: Desires to be in small-town America and understands the town’s rural nature. Will continue the culture of expositional preaching, sound doctrine, and a high view of scripture over all of life and practice Can “wear many hats” in the pastor position at NHF Is committed to an elder-led congregation and working alongside them THE QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years of pastoral experience preferred. Higher education preferred, not necessary, but with a desire to be ever-learning highly recommended. Counseling abilities preferred, not required. Aligning with preaching/teaching and philosophy/doctrine of church by-laws. Annual Salary Base – $36,100; includes housing allowance + 4 weeks sabbatical Insurance sharing and additional bonus considerations after initial time of employment.
