Overview

Bible Story
“God’s Big Love Story”
Long ago, God said to the people: “This is how we will remember You, every family will eat a lamb on the same night. We will tell our children, ‘God saved us! He was kind to us!’”
One night, the people put blood on their doors. Then God saw the blood and passed over them like a big shield, “I love you! You’re safe!”
The Egyptians saw the darkness, but God saved His people. “Look at the stars!” they shouted. The people cheered: “God saved us! He is good!”
God gave them a special meal. They ate with joy and remembered: “This is how we tell our kids, ‘God loves you!’”
Why this matters: God’s love is like a big hug. He saved His people so they could always know: “You’re loved!” Praise God!
Activities
- Lay out paper lamb ears and ask: “God loves you like a lamb!”
- Let toddlers glue yarn onto the ears as “God’s big love.”
- Color the ears with crayons while saying: “He saved us, just like the lamb!”
- Put lambs on tables to take home as a reminder.

Missions Spotlight
In many parts of North Africa and the Middle East, the concept of sacrificial lambs is deeply understood. Missionaries working among the Amazigh (Berber) people of Morocco use the Passover story as a bridge to explain Jesus as the Lamb of God.
To the Cross
The Passover lamb’s blood on the doorposts saved the Israelites from death. Jesus is our Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7), His blood saves us from the death that our sin deserves. Every Passover pointed forward to the cross.
