Neurodivergent Ministry Resources
Neurodivergent people have been sitting in your pews for years. Some have stayed. Many have not. The question is not whether they are in your community — it is whether they feel like they belong in your church.
These nine resources are written for small churches that want to do better — not perfectly, just better. Each one is free, printable, and designed for churches with limited budgets and unlimited heart.
In the Shop
- Understanding Neurodivergence — A pastor’s plain-language guide to autism, ADHD, sensory processing, and what Scripture says about neurological differences.
- Understanding Autism Spectrum — Clear, compassionate, myth-busting. What the spectrum actually looks like in church settings, and practical accommodations that cost nothing.
- Understanding ADHD in Church — Why conventional Sunday school fails these kids, and specific strategies that help: movement breaks, visual schedules, fidget-friendly environments.
- Ministering to Neurodivergent Adults — They are already there. Recognizing and welcoming adults who may be misunderstood, including masking and burnout.
- Communication That Connects — Visual supports, written agendas, processing time, sensory maps. Templates included.
- Sensory-Friendly Worship — Small changes to your existing service: lighting, volume, seating, sensory tools. Every tip costs little or nothing.
- Creating a Quiet Space — From a lobby corner with a chair to a dedicated listening room. Equipment lists at three budget levels.
- Sensory Rooms That Show You Care — A $50 tote bag, a $150 corner, or a $500 room. Every level says ‘you belong here.’ Start small. Start this Sunday.
- Neurodivergent Youth and Teens — Reaching and keeping students through middle school and beyond. Mentoring, self-advocacy, and parent partnership.
Start With Awareness
You do not need to become an expert. You need to become willing — willing to dim the lights, print a visual schedule, let a teenager sit with headphones, and ask “What do you need?”
That is neurodivergent ministry. It is not complicated. It is just intentional.
