The path
1. Notice — What is this person carrying, questioning, celebrating, or hoping for?
2. Ask permission — “Would it be okay if I shared why this matters to me?”
3. Listen — “What do you believe?” “What shaped that?” “What gives you hope?”
4. Share — Created. Broken. Rescued. Respond.
5. Leave room — Welcome questions and disagreement. Never pressure.
6. Offer a next step — Read Scripture, talk again, pray, or connect with a mentor.
Four movements
- Created: God made us for himself and his good rule.
- Broken: Sin separates us from God; we cannot rescue ourselves.
- Rescued: Jesus died for sinners and rose again.
- Respond: Repent, trust Jesus, and follow him.

Three guardrails
- Respect the person without relativizing the gospel.
- Define words such as sin, grace, faith, and salvation.
- Say “I don’t know” when needed and offer to study further.
Afterward
Within 24 hours: pray and write down what you heard. Within a week: follow up with the next step you discussed. If the person responds to Jesus, connect them with a healthy church and mature mentor.
