Jesus Heals a Blind Man — 1st-3rd Grade (Ages 6-9)

This free Grades 1–3 lesson teaches John 9:1–41 with respect for the adult man in the account. Jesus rejects the disciples’ attempt to blame his blindness on his or his parents’ sin; the man washes at Siloam, receives sight, and speaks for himself.

The child-facing memory line is clearly labeled as a paraphrase of John 9:3; teachers may read the passage in their preferred translation. The lesson does not equate disability with sin.
