David Spares Saul: Mercy with Wise Distance — High School Lesson

Free high school Sunday school lesson on 1 Samuel 24:1–22. This reviewed nine-page PDF includes two pages of volunteer background, a passage guide, timed plan, reproducible source study, teacher answers, and a family page. A separate high-school claim check tests statements about authority, forgiveness, repentance, and safety.

Students trace Saul’s pursuit, David’s men’s interpretation in the cave, the robe piece and David’s conscience, his restraint and public appeal, Saul’s tears and acknowledgment, the oath, and verse 22’s separate destinations. The full 1 Samuel 24:12 KJV memory verse is printed. The guide distinguishes reported speech from God’s command and mercy from forced reconciliation or unsafe contact. It directs threatened children to trusted adults and does not excuse abuse or secrecy.
