Free pre-k & kindergarten Sunday school lesson on 1 Samuel 16:1–13. This reviewed seven-page PDF gives volunteers two pages of passage-specific background, a gentle age-appropriate script, a supplied printable sequence cards, and a family page.
It follows Samuel’s grief and fear, his visit to Bethlehem, his first impression of Eliab, God’s correction about outward appearance, David being summoned from tending sheep, and Samuel’s anointing as the LORD’s Spirit comes upon David. The child memory is explicitly labeled as a paraphrase. The guide does not rank children’s appearance, claim teachers can read hearts, treat oil as magic, or say David took the throne that day. The later Davidic promise and gospel are identified as later Scripture.
