Joshua and Jericho: Commission, Judgment, and Rahab’s Rescue — High School Lesson

Free high school Sunday school lesson on Joshua 1:1–18 and 6:1–27. This reviewed eight-page PDF supplies full volunteer background, a timed plan, a reproducible source study, teacher answers, and a family page. A separate claim check tests the passage, later Hebrews teaching, and unsafe overclaims.

Students trace Joshua’s commission and preparation, the intervening events in chapters 2–5, the particular procession at Jericho, the city’s destruction, and Rahab’s household being brought out. The full Joshua 1:9 KJV verse is printed in Joshua’s leadership setting. The guide names the deaths in Joshua 6:21, avoids a harmless wall-collapse version of the story, and rejects using this ancient account to justify harm to modern neighbors. The later gospel and Hebrews 11 reflection are separately identified.
