Joshua and Jericho: God Commissions Joshua and Rahab Is Spared — Grades 1–3 Lesson

Free grades 1–3 Sunday school lesson on Joshua 1:1–18 and 6:1–27. This reviewed seven-page PDF includes passage-specific volunteer background, a complete teaching script, a timed plan, six printable sequence cards, a Bible worksheet with answers, and a family page.

The guide explains that chapters 2–5 lie between the assigned readings. It follows Joshua’s commission, the people’s preparation, God’s particular directions at Jericho, the wall’s fall, the city’s destruction, and the promise kept to Rahab and her household. The actual Joshua 1:9 KJV memory excerpt is labeled and kept in Joshua’s context. The lesson names the deaths without graphic reenactment, does not turn the judgment into a game, and does not suggest Christians may harm neighbors. Later gospel teaching is separately sourced.
