The lesson follows Moses’ command to hear and love the one LORD, teach his words in daily life, remember the God who rescued Israel from Egypt, avoid testing him, and answer a child’s question with the rescue story. It prints the full Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV memory verse. Jesus’ later use of this command in Mark 12:28–34 and the gospel are separately sourced. It welcomes children’s questions and does not suggest that perfect command keeping earns salvation.
