It follows the twelve scouts’ forty-day survey and fruit, Caleb and Joshua’s counsel, Israel’s refusal, Moses’ prayer, and God’s pardon with wilderness consequences. The child memory is explicitly labeled as a Numbers 14:9 paraphrase. The lesson avoids portraying Canaan’s inhabitants as monsters, equating normal fear with rebellion, or urging children to take unsafe risks. Later gospel teaching is identified separately.
