The Day of Atonement: God Gives Israel a Yearly Day — Nursery Sunday School Lesson

Free nursery Sunday school lesson on Leviticus 16:1–34. This reviewed five-page PDF gives volunteers background on the whole ritual, a calm age-appropriate lesson plan, a supplied adult-held visual, and a family page.

The adult guide distinguishes Aaron’s bull, the goat sacrificed as a sin offering, and the second goat kept alive and sent into the wilderness. The child memory is explicitly labeled as a Leviticus 16:30 paraphrase. The guide avoids animal roleplay, blood props, pretend sacrifice, and public disclosure of private wrongs. Hebrews 9–10 and 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 are identified as later teaching about Christ. Read the full chapter in your preferred translation.
