The Day of Atonement: Two Goats, Different Roles — Grades 1–3 Sunday School Lesson

Free grades 1–3 Sunday school lesson on Leviticus 16:1–34. This reviewed seven-page PDF gives volunteer background on the full ritual, an age-appropriate teacher script, a 50-minute plan, six printed sequence cards, a Bible worksheet with answers, and a family page.

It distinguishes Aaron’s preparation and bull, the goat sacrificed for a sin offering, and the live goat sent into the wilderness. The yearly day of humility and rest is covered. A real Leviticus 16:30 KJV excerpt replaces the old memory placeholder. Later teaching about Christ’s sufficient work is sourced separately to Hebrews 9–10 and the resurrection gospel to 1 Corinthians 15:3–4. No blood props, pretend sacrifice, public confession activity, or claim that the cards can forgive sin.
