Esau sells his birthright for food; later Rebekah directs Jacob’s disguise and Jacob deceives Isaac to receive a blessing. These are distinct events. God’s earlier word to Rebekah does not excuse dishonesty or family favoritism. The memory line is clearly labeled as a Genesis 25:23 paraphrase, and the wider Bible’s gospel is attributed to Jesus Christ’s death for sins and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
