Canaanites were already in the land, and the land promise was not instantly complete.
Memory verse: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:” Genesis 12:2, KJV. Later Scripture in Galatians 3:8, 16 connects the blessing to Christ; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 announces Jesus’ death for sins and resurrection. Read the account in your preferred translation.
