Abel brought the best of his flock; Cain brought some of his crops. God looked with favor on Abel’s offering but not Cain’s. Cain became furious. God warned him that sin was crouching at his door, but Cain didn’t listen. He killed his brother Abel. God sees what’s in our hearts — He cares about why we do things, not just what we do. Connection to the Gospel Cain’s anger led to murder. Jesus teaches that anger in the heart is sin (Matthew 5:21-22).
