Lesson Overview

The serpent asked Eve, ‘Did God really say…?’ He made her doubt God’s word. Eve ate the fruit, and Adam ate it too. They hid from God because they were ashamed. But even in judgment, God promised that one of Eve’s descendants would crush the serpent’s head. That’s a promise about Jesus!

Connection to the Gospel

The serpent crushed the heel of the woman’s offspring — Jesus — but Jesus crushed the serpent’s head on the cross (Hebrews 2:14).
