Lesson Overview

Genesis 2 gives us the detailed account of how God made the first people. He formed Adam from the dust and breathed into him the breath of life. He placed Adam in a beautiful garden and gave him meaningful work. God saw that Adam was alone and made Eve as his companion. Adam and Eve walked with God in perfect fellowship. This relationship — walking with God — is what we were made for. Sin broke that fellowship, but Jesus came to restore it. The Gospel is ultimately about God restoring the relationship that was lost in the garden.

Connection to the Gospel

God breathed life into Adam, but sin broke that walk. Jesus came to restore our friendship with God (2 Corinthians 5:18).
