Lesson Overview
The Genesis creation account establishes that there is one God who created everything. Before the mountains were formed, God was. He spoke and the cosmos came into existence. His masterpiece was humanity, made in His image. Every human being carries the imprint of the Creator. Today, New Atheism claims the universe needs no Creator. Yet the existence of life, consciousness, and moral law points to a Designer. Genesis 1 is the foundation of the Gospel: if God can create something from nothing, He can certainly redeem what is broken.

In the beginning, God created everything — and He still makes all things new through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).
