We are a growing church plant in Roanoke, Texas, centered on Jesus, driven by grace, and rooted in the scriptures. We believe corporate worship should be shaped by the Word of God, centered on the gospel, filled with joyful and reverent praise, and designed to help God's people respond together to who He is and what He has done. We are seeking a Worship Minister who shares these convictions and desires to help us cultivate a healthy culture of worship at Cross & Crown. Position Overview The Worship Minister will provide leadership for the musical worship of Cross & Crown while helping shape the overall worship culture of the church. We are looking for a leader who loves Jesus, loves the local church, and desires to shepherd people through worship. This person will work closely with the Lead Pastor in planning our Sunday gatherings, combining expressive musical worship with Scripture, prayer, and other elements of Christian worship. The Worship Minister will also recruit, develop, disciple, and care for the musicians and vocalists who serve on the worship team.  Compensation will be based on q Key Responsibilities Lead Worship: Prepare for and lead musical worship during Sunday gatherings and other designated church gatherings. Plan Sunday Gatherings: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan cohesive, gospel-centered services that incorporate songs, Scripture, prayer, and other appropriate worship elements. Cultivate a Worship Culture: Help our congregation grow in its understanding and practice of corporate worship. We want to sing songs that are theologically rich while encouraging genuine expressions of joy, gratitude, reverence, celebration, confidence, and dependence upon God. Build the Team: Recruit, train, schedule, disciple, encourage, and care for musicians and vocalists. Help identify and develop new worship leaders within the church. Provide Musical Leadership: Bring musical and vocal competence to the role, including thoughtful song selection, arrangements, transitions, and preparation. Collaborate with Production Volunteers: Work alongside those serving in audio, visual, and production roles to help ensure that the technical elements of our gatherings support rather than distract from worship. Participate in the Life of the Church: Function not simply as a Sunday musician, but as a ministry leader who is meaningfully involved in the life, relationships, and mission of Cross & Crown. Qualifications The ideal candidate will: Demonstrate a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Affirm the theological convictions, mission, and ministry philosophy of Cross & Crown Church. Have previous experience leading worship in a local church setting. Be a capable vocalist and musician who can confidently lead a congregation. Demonstrate both musical excellence and theological discernment. Have a heart for discipling, developing, and shepherding worship team members. Be able to lead volunteers with humility, clarity, encouragement, and accountability. Possess communication, organization, and relational skills. Be dependable, teachable, collaborative, and willing to receive feedback. Ministry Expectations The Worship Minister will get to: Become a covenant member of Cross & Crown Church. Participate faithfully in the regular rhythms and community life of the church. Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor and other staff members. Participate in regular staff meetings and ministry planning. Maintain and utilize Planning Center for scheduling, service planning, and team communication. Recruit and develop enough team members to create healthy serving rotations. Prepare worship teams well through timely communication, rehearsals, and resources. Participate in special services, prayer and worship gatherings, and significant church events. Typical Weekly Rhythm & Compensation This is designed as a part-time position averaging approximately 10–12 hours per week, recognizing that ministry schedules will vary depending on the season and special events. Because ministry does not always fit neatly into an hourly schedule, we want to emphasize faithful ownership of the responsibilities of the role rather than rigid timekeeping. Being a part-time position, we are also committed to being flexible and working with the staff member's other vocational commitments and needs.
