Mountain Grace Church in Dubois, Wyoming is a church family prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor who senses God’s invitation to walk alongside a devoted, Spirit-filled church family and help shape what He is already doing in our midst.
We are looking for a humble, Christ-centered shepherd — someone who loves people, teaches Scripture faithfully, and is eager to see lives transformed by the Gospel. A pastor who will lead the church to be centered on the full counsel of God’s word and prayer, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and growing in holiness and obedience to God’s truth, as we love one another and love our community growing to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.

The Opportunity
The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader and co-teacher of Mountain Grace Church. In partnership with our Elder and Leadership Team, the pastor helps steward the vision, oversee ministry life, and guide the church forward with grace, knowledge, wisdom, Biblical teaching, spiritual growth, humility, and faith.
Who We Are Praying For
Someone with a visible, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear call to pastoral ministry. Full theological alignment with the beliefs of Mountain Grace Church. Biblical character and spiritual maturity as described in Scripture for pastors and teachers (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1). Seminary training in pastoral ministry or theology. Prior ministry experience in a pastoral or leadership role.
Someone who is a collaborative leader who values shared ministry and teamwork. Willing to operate in an Elder-led organizational structure. Comfortable with co-teaching and sharing the weekly preaching responsibilities with established teaching pastors.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching, Teaching & Worship
- Faithfully prepare and deliver engaging, biblically sound sermons
- Lead Sunday worship services in collaboration with the worship team and lay leaders
- Administer the ordinances of the church (Communion, Baptism, Baby Dedications)
- Share the responsibility of preaching with fellow teaching pastors
- Oversee the Training & Equipping ministries of the church for adults, youth, and children
Pastoral Care & Shepherding
- Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance to congregation members
- Officiate weddings and conduct funeral/memorial services
- Visit the sick, elderly, and homebound within the local community
- Equip the saints to do the work of the ministry
Leadership & Administration
- Provide executive leadership and oversight to church staff, volunteers, and ministry directors
- Honor Mountain Grace Church’s Elder-led organizational structure
- Assist in developing, managing, and executing the annual church budget
- Oversee all ministries of the church
Community Outreach & Evangelism
- Serve as a visible representative of the church in the Dubois/Wyoming community
- Build relationships with local schools, civic leaders, and community organizations
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of proven experience in pastoral ministry (preaching, staff supervision, church leadership)
- Seminary or equivalent Biblical College education — not a new graduate
- Married, preferably with children
- Full agreement with the church’s statement of faith and doctrinal bylaws
- Familiarity with the remoteness of Dubois and the challenges of small-town Wyoming life
- Qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1
- Exemplary Christian testimony in private, family, and public life
- Willing to be accountable to the Elder board and church membership
- Strong in Leadership, Prayer, Discipleship, and Preaching
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, and administrative proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, or related field from an accredited seminary
- Outgoing and confident — willing to engage with the community and church members
- Experience pastoring a church of similar size or larger
- Past experience in Children’s and Youth ministry
- Experience leading outreach ministries
- Family and/or marriage counseling experience
