Minister of Music/Worship at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jasper | NextStep.SBTexas.com Minister of Music/Worship Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jasper | Jasper, TX Posted Date 8/31/2026 First Posted 5/08/2024 Description Minister of Music and Worship Job Description:                                                                        The position of Minister of Worship is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a vision for leading and engaging people of all ages in worship.                  Spiritual Criteria: Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Commitment to personal spiritual growth Models standards and expectations of leaders within Hillcrest Baptist Church                                                 Responsibilities/Duties:   Must be proficient in sound and other worship related technical, audio and visual services. Oversee the entire music ministry of the church. (including funerals and weddings)                       Able to lead a mixed service comprised of traditional, contemporary, and praise and worship music Coordinate with the Pastor and prayerfully select congregational music, including any special emphasis such as drama, soloists, choirs, children, youth, and musicians for congregational worship services Organize, maintain and update the music library Schedule and direct weekly and special rehearsals Select music and direct special groups and solos Provide training for choirs and musical groups Recruit new members for the music ministry Maintain musical instruments, AV equipment and arrange for tuning and upkeep Oversee church pianist and youth and children’s choir directors Coordinate with and assist the Media Coordinator Plan and direct Christmas, Easter and/or other seasonal programs Recruit, train and oversee sound technicians, scheduling them to serve on a rotating basis Oversee budget and expenditures for the church music ministry     Salary 60,000.00 – 75,000.00 Annual Department Music/Worship Status Full-Time Highest Level of Education Required College Minimum Experience in Years 5-10 Affiliation Our church/ministry is affiliated with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
