Baggs is an extremely rural community in Carbon County, Wyoming. Snake River Community Church is a small congregation with a wide range of ages and spiritual maturity, including several families with young children.

About Snake River Community Church

Snake River Community Church (SRCC) in Baggs, WY is seeking a lead pastor. Candidates and families must be comfortable in an extremely rural environment serving a small church. SRCC is not seeking a pastor who can do it all, but rather a pastor who can guide and direct the congregation as they seek to serve their church and community. Responsibilities

The Pastor of SRCC is not individually expected to perform all the work of ministry, but rather to “equip” and “build up” the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, exegetical, biblically-based sermons every week
  • Provide pastoral care to members of the congregation and surrounding community, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis
  • Officiate weddings, funerals, and baptisms as needed
  • Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship through raising up elders, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and children’s ministries
  • Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities
  • Guide church leadership in children’s ministries

Qualifications

  • Must fulfill all leadership qualifications of an elder as laid out in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9, and be recognized by other elders/pastors as meeting these qualifications
  • Must agree with the doctrines of Snake River Community Church
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for serving through a multigenerational congregation
  • Comfortable in an extremely rural environment
  • Desire to help guide church leadership in children’s ministries

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $2,500/month
  • Church parsonage housing provided (recently appraised at $1,200/month value)
  • Basic utilities and internet included
  • Paid vacation
  • Moving expenses may be negotiable
  • Bi-vocational arrangement possible if needed
