Full-Time Senior Pastor at Faith Family Church Nevada, Texas | NextStep.SBTexas.com Full-Time Senior Pastor Faith Family Church Nevada, Texas | Nevada, TX Posted Date 8/19/2026 First Posted 8/19/2026 Description Senior Pastor of Faith Family Church Salary range: $70,000-$75,000 Overall Objective The Senior Pastor will faithfully lead the church in glorifying God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through biblical preaching, intentional discipleship, compassionate pastoral care, evangelistic outreach, community engagement, and Christ-centered leadership. Purpose of the Position The Senior Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church under the lordship of Jesus Christ. He is responsible for proclaiming the Gospel, preaching, and teaching the Word of God, providing pastoral care, equipping believers for ministry, casting vision for the future of the church, and providing administrative leadership in all areas of church life. The Senior Pastor shall lead by example in spiritual maturity, integrity, humility, servant leadership, discipleship, and community engagement while preserving the biblical principles of congregational governance. Qualifications   Be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ with a clear testimony of salvation and a demonstrated call to pastoral ministry Meet the biblical requirements as found in Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7 Hold a degree in ministry (or equivalent theological training) from an accredited seminary or equivalent ministry experience and training may be considered A minimum of five years of pastoral leadership experience is preferred Affirm and support the doctrinal beliefs and mission of the church and the Southern Baptist Convention and hold to dispensational hermeneutical distinctives Demonstrate strong biblical knowledge and a commitment to expositional Bible-centered preaching and teaching Possess proven leadership, organizational, communication, and administrative abilities Have experience leading, developing, and supervising church staff and ministry leaders Demonstrate wisdom in biblical counseling and shepherding people through life's challenges Demonstrate a genuine love for people and the local church Personal Characteristics – The Senior Pastor should exemplify: Relational and approachable demeanor Strong moral character and accountability Active listening skills Emotional intelligence and discernment Courage to speak biblical truth with grace and conviction A servant-leader mindset Primary Responsibilities – Spiritual Leadership and Pastoral Care Provide biblical vision and leadership for the church Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to church members Facilitate and oversee ministry to hospitalized, grieving, homebound, and struggling individuals Offer biblical counseling and spiritual encouragement Officiate weddings, funerals, memorial services, and other pastoral ministries as requested Maintain confidentiality in pastoral relationships Demonstrate compassion and care during times of crisis and special need Evangelism, Outreach, and Missions Lead by example in personal evangelism Share the Gospel with people inside and outside the church Support and participate in outreach ministries and visitation efforts Develop relationships within the community and represent Christ beyond the church walls Encourage involvement in schools, community organizations, and civic opportunities when appropriate Leadership and Staff Development Serve as chief administrator of the church staff Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate ministry staff Conduct and oversee regular staff meetings Help develop ministry goals with staff members Foster teamwork, collaboration, and healthy communication among staff and ministry leaders Encourage leadership development throughout the church Church Administration Provide leadership for church ministries and programs Moderate church business meetings Financial Stewardship Promote biblical stewardship throughout the church Support and encourage financial accountability and transparency Assist the Stewardship Committee in developing and coordinating the annual church budget Exercise personal financial integrity that reflects biblical stewardship and brings honor to Christ and His church Church Governance and Cooperation Respect and preserve the church’s congregational form of governance Work cooperatively with church elders, deacons, staff, committees, and ministry teams Represent the church in local, state, and national Southern Baptist Convention activities Keep the church informed of relevant denominational developments and ministry opportunities Family Expectations The Senior Pastor should model biblical family leadership and maintain a healthy marriage (if married) and family life that reflects Christian values. His spouse should demonstrate support for his ministry and commitment to the life of the church, while recognizing that ministry involvement by family members is voluntary and based upon their individual gifts and calling.
