Director of Worship at West Edgecombe Baptist, Rocky Mount Attn: Matthew | Baptist State Convention of North Carolina Director of Worship West Edgecombe Baptist, Rocky Mount Attn: Matthew | Rocky Mount, NC Posted Date 8/23/2026 Description Reports To:  Senior Pastor Status:  Full-Time   Position Overview The Minister/Director of Worship Ministries is responsible for planning and leading corporate worship for West Edgecombe Baptist Church. This full-time position involves leading the music and worship ministry, developing musicians and volunteer leaders, and overseeing worship-related programming across all ages, in coordination with the Senior Pastor and staff. Key Responsibilities Worship Planning and Leadership     Plan, lead, and coordinate weekly corporate worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor and staff.     Select music and songs that align with the sermon series and the church's theological convictions.     Recruit, train, and schedule musicians, vocalists, and audio/visual volunteers for weekly services and special events.     Lead rehearsals for the worship team, ensuring musical excellence and spiritual preparedness.     Plan and lead worship for special services, including Christmas , Easter, baptisms, and other church-wide gatherings.     Lead bible studies to various groups   Music Ministry Development     Develop and grow the choir, praise team, and instrumentalists.     Oversee the children's and student music ministries, in coordination with the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries and children's ministry staff.     Oversee the stewardship and maintenance of musical instruments and sound equipment.     Identify, mentor, and develop new worship leaders and musicians within the congregation. Church Communications     Work with the church office staff to produce and maintain worship communications, including bulletins, slides, and social media content.     Coordinate with the office staff on the technical setup and operation of sound, video, and livestream equipment for weekly services and special events.     Assist in maintaining the church website and communication platforms as they relate to worship ministry information.     Ensure timely and accurate communication of worship schedules, sign-ups, and event details to the congregation. Administration and Collaboration     Manage the worship ministry budget in cooperation with church leadership.     Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and staff team on the overall vision, calendar, and direction of the church.     Communicate regularly with the congregation regarding worship ministry opportunities.     Attend staff meetings and participate in the broader pastoral care of the congregation as needed. Qualifications and Requirements     Five or more years of experience leading a praise & worship team or choir, including a band.     Experience with Proclaim or other worship planning software.     Bachelor's degree preferred.
