Director of Worship & Women's Ministry at West Edgecombe Baptist, Rocky Mount Attn: Matthew | Baptist State Convention of North Carolina Director of Worship & Women's Ministry West Edgecombe Baptist, Rocky Mount Attn: Matthew | Rocky Mount, NC Posted Date 8/23/2026 Description Position Overview The Worship & Women's Ministry Director is responsible for planning and leading corporate worship for West Edgecombe Baptist Church while also shepherding the spiritual growth of the women of the congregation. This full-time position involves leading the music and worship ministry, developing and overseeing Women's Ministry programs, and fostering discipleship and community across the church body. Key Responsibilities Worship Planning and Leadership Plan, lead, and coordinate weekly corporate worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor and staff. Select music and songs that align with the sermon series and the church's theological convictions. Recruit, train, and schedule musicians, vocalists, and audio/visual volunteers for weekly services and special events. Lead rehearsals for the worship team, ensuring musical excellence and spiritual preparedness. Plan and lead worship for special services, including Christmas Eve, Easter, baptisms, and other church-wide gatherings. Music Ministry Development Develop and grow the choir, praise team, and instrumentalists. Oversee the children's and student music ministries, in coordination with the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries and children's ministry staff. Oversee the stewardship and maintenance of musical instruments and sound equipment. Identify, mentor, and develop new worship leaders and musicians within the congregation. Women's Ministry Leadership Develop, plan, and oversee a comprehensive Women's Ministry program, including Bible studies, retreats, and fellowship events. Disciple and mentor women of all ages within the congregation, fostering spiritual growth and biblical literacy. Recruit and train female volunteer leaders for small groups and ministry teams. Plan and promote an annual women's retreat in addition to seasonal fellowship and outreach events. Community Engagement and Outreach Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for women of all ages and stages of life. Build and maintain relationships with the women of the church and encourage participation in the life of the congregation. Encourage and organize women's involvement in local and global outreach initiatives. Partner with other churches and community organizations to enhance women's ministry and outreach efforts. Church Communications Work with the church office staff to produce and maintain worship and Women's Ministry communications, including bulletins, slides, and social media content. Coordinate with the office staff on the technical setup and operation of sound, video, and livestream equipment for weekly services and special events. Assist in maintaining the church website and communication platforms as they relate to worship and Women's Ministry information. Ensure timely and accurate communication of worship and Women's Ministry schedules, sign-ups, and event details to the congregation. Administration and Collaboration Manage the worship and Women's Ministry budgets in cooperation with church leadership. Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and staff team on the overall vision, calendar, and direction of the church. Communicate regularly with the congregation regarding worship and Women's Ministry opportunities. Attend staff meetings and participate in the broader pastoral care of the congregation as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Five or more years of experience leading a praise & worship team or choir, including a band. Experience leading adult ministries. Experience teaching Bible studies. Experience with Proclaim or other worship planning software. Bachelor's degree preferred.
