We are looking for someone who genuinely loves Jesus, loves children, loves families, and works well as part of a team. CBC is blessed with excellent staff camaraderie, dedicated volunteers, and a children’s ministry with exciting opportunities for continued growth. The Children’s Ministry Director will work alongside our pastoral staff, volunteers, parents, and families to create a ministry where children are safe, loved, discipled, and excited to be part of the church. Primary Responsibilities The Children’s Ministry Director will: Provide overall leadership and direction for CBC’s children’s ministry. Recruit, equip, encourage, and care for children’s ministry volunteers. Develop strong relationships with children and their parents. Ensure Sunday and Wednesday children’s ministries are organized, welcoming, engaging, and spiritually meaningful. Help select and implement biblically faithful, age-appropriate curriculum. Maintain strong safety, security, check-in, and volunteer screening procedures. Communicate clearly and consistently with parents and volunteers. Help plan special events, outreach opportunities, Vacation Bible School, and other children’s ministry activities. Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and church staff. Help develop a long-term vision for reaching and discipling more children and families in our community. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is: A growing disciple of Jesus Christ with a clear commitment to Scripture and the local church. Relational. Someone who doesn’t simply run children’s programs but genuinely knows and cares for children, parents, and volunteers. A leader. Someone capable of building teams, developing volunteers, solving problems, and helping a growing ministry move forward. Organized and dependable. Children’s ministry requires excellent communication, preparation, follow-through, and attention to detail. A team player. We value an enjoyable, supportive staff culture and want someone who enjoys working collaboratively rather than operating as an isolated ministry. Mission-minded. Someone who sees children’s ministry not merely as childcare but as an opportunity to make disciples and reach families with the gospel. Experience Prior experience serving or leading in children’s ministry is highly encouraged. Experience recruiting and leading volunteers, working with parents, or overseeing ministry programming would be especially valuable. Formal ministry education is welcomed but is not necessarily required. We place a high value on character, theological alignment, leadership ability, teachability, and ministry experience.
