Associational Mission Strategist at Liberty Baptist Association | Arkansas Baptist State Convention Associational Mission Strategist Liberty Baptist Association | El Dorado, AR Posted Date 8/31/2026 Description Associational Missions Strategist (AMS) – Liberty Baptist Association The Liberty Baptist Association is a network of 53 Southern Baptist churches spread throughout South Arkansas. Our mission is to proclaim Jesus as Lord in South Arkansas and beyond. The vision is to see Strengthened Churches, coordinate Strategic Missions, encourage Supportive Community, and facilitate Streamlined Organization. The LBA comprises a variety of churches with different needs. From churches with multiple staff located in the heart of town to churches with bi-vocational pastors located in rural communities. Our churches spread out across the largest geographic area of any Southern Baptist association in the state. We believe that each church adds value to our association, deserves the support of our AMS, and has the potential to participate in our cooperative efforts to make disciples in South Arkansas and beyond. Our churches partner together to operate two ministry centers that provide food, clothing, and hope to families in need, and one campground that continues to impact the next generation for Christ. The AMS search committee is seeking a full-time candidate to lead our churches forward in greater cooperation and effectiveness. Qualifications: Must meet the biblical qualifications for gospel ministry in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and be ordained in a Southern Baptist Church.   Must be a motivated person with deep Christian commitment who demonstrates spiritual maturity and a growing relationship with Christ and a sense of call to mission service. Must hold strong affirmative belief concerning Baptist doctrine, polity, and practices as expressed in Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. Must be thoroughly cooperative with the work of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention and its entities and the Southern Baptist Convention and its agencies. Must have enough training and experience to enable him to plan, establish, coordinate, promote, conduct, and evaluate the objectives of the association.   Relationship to the Field: Be available for counsel and service to individual pastors at their request. When a church becomes pastorless, offer his assistance in whatever way they may request. It is recommended that the AMS undergo training with the ABSC Smart Start Interim Ministry. The AMS will not fill an interim role outside of the eight weeks of the Smart Start. Be available to fill the pulpits for pastors at their request, for pastorless churches, and assist in securing a pulpit supply. Consider and propose new areas of ministry to expand the mission and vision of the LBA. Stay in close contact with the churches to be conversant with the issues facing the churches of the Liberty Baptist Association. Keep churches informed as to the activities and progress of Associational work by giving regular reports to the Executive Board. Relationship to the Associational Program: Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to see that associational teams meet and carry out their assigned responsibility. Schedule and meet with the Executive Leadership Team and Missions Planning Team. He shall lead in the planning of the long-term program of associational work. He shall serve as an ex officio member of every Associational committee. Other administrative tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the Liberty Baptist Association and its ministry activities. Relationship to the Associational Ministries: He will have oversight for the vision, mission, and finances of Beech Springs Camp. He will work with the camp manager and camp ministry team to plan and carry out major objectives and improvements for Beech Springs Camp. He will work with the camp manager and the camp ministry team to develop a long-range plan for the growth of camps, retreats, and other activities at Beech Springs Camp. He will have oversight of the vision, mission, and finances of the Associational Ministry Centers: Liberty Ministry Center in El Dorado and Ruby Snider Ministry Center in Camden. He will work with the ministry center directors and teams to plan and carry out major objectives and improvements. He will work with the ministry center directors and teams in developing a long-range plan for the growth of the ministry centers as a key part of the Association’s strategy to reach the lost and needy in our communities. Relationship to Associational Personnel: Ministry Assistant – direct their work, seeing that it is done in an efficient manner Camp Manager – supervise his work to see that the camp is in good operating order at all times. Communications Assistant – direct their work in keeping the association informed of all events and matters useful to associational churches. Ministry Center Directors – supervise their work to see that the ministry centers are in good operating order at all times. Will keep regular office hours such that pastors know when he will be available. (Recommended Monday – Thursday, 8-5).
