MinistryPlace helps small and rural churches share ministry openings and helps candidates find a role that fits their calling, church context, and family. Here are the practical details before you post.
Who can post a position?
A church, ministry organization, or authorized search representative may submit a genuine ministry opening. Please use an official church or ministry email address whenever possible and provide enough information for candidates to evaluate the role responsibly.
Is a standard listing free?
Yes. A standard ministry job listing can be submitted without charge. Review current listing options if you need added visibility; paid placement is optional and should be clearly selected during the submission process.
How long does a listing stay visible?
Standard listings are intended for a 60-day posting period. If your church fills the role sooner, please close or update the listing so candidates are not asked to apply for an unavailable position.
What happens after submission?
MinistryPlace reviews submissions for completeness, clarity, and a legitimate ministry purpose before public display. Review is not an endorsement of a church, candidate, theology, compensation package, or employment practice. The church remains responsible for every claim in its listing and for its own hiring process.
What should a strong listing include?
- Church and community context, including rural or small-town realities when relevant.
- Role title, hours, employment type, primary responsibilities, and supervision.
- Doctrinal or ministry expectations stated plainly and fairly.
- Compensation range or a candid explanation of what can be discussed.
- Application materials, contact route, deadline if there is one, and next steps.
