God’s Promise to Abraham and Sarah: Isaac Is Born — Grades 1–3 Sunday School Lesson

Free grades 1–3 Sunday school lesson on Genesis 18:1–15 and 21:1–7. This reviewed seven-page volunteer edition has passage background, teaching script, timed 45-minute plan, reproducible Bible worksheet and key, printable sequence cards, and family page. The Lord promises Sarah a son at the appointed time; she laughs in surprise; God speaks truthfully; Isaac is born; and Sarah laughs with joy. This is a particular promise to Abraham and Sarah, not a guarantee of pregnancy for every family.

Memory verse: “Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Genesis 18:14, KJV. The guide cares for varied family stories and distinguishes later Scripture’s connection to Christ and his death and resurrection. Read both passages in your preferred translation.
