Lesson Overview

God spoke to Abram (later called Abraham) and told him to leave his home and go to a land God would show him. Abram didn’t know where he was going, but he trusted God and went — his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all their possessions. When he arrived, God appeared to him and promised to give him the land. Abram built an altar to worship God. Faith means trusting God even when you don’t have all the answers.

Connection to the Gospel

God promised Abraham that through him, ‘all the families of the earth shall be blessed’ — a promise fulfilled in Jesus, Abraham’s descendant (Galatians 3:8).
