Parameters for a Pastor These are basic screening points – some things are negotiable. Personal: 1. Would prefer someone with rural ministry experience. 2. Better to be married, a wife is very helpful. 3. Experienced and be able to demonstrate good Bible knowledge 4. Full time position includes housing & utilities. 5. A 1099, will pay his own social security and taxes 6. May or may not pay benefits such as health insurance depending on circumstance. 7. He will deduct his own business expenses. Theology & Philosophy: 1. May be ordained or not. (Small church experience helpful) 2. Will agree to facilitate our Membership Manual. 3. Will agree to our Doctrinal Statement 4. Will have a shepherd’s heart. 5. Will be a servant leader. 6. Will be evangelistic in doctrine and practice. 7. Will be a dispensationalist. 8. Will be committed to the biblical elder model of leadership. 9. Will preach the authority and inerrancy of scripture. 10. Will be opposed to abortion, LGBTQ+ community, Socialism, Women in leadership, Critical Race Theory, Social Emotional Learning. Community Bible Church Lushton is located Southwest of York Nebraska between McCool Junction and Henderson Nebraska. Our church is located in a village of 31 people but has a membership of 38 and an attendance of between 45 and 50. We are a conservative evangelical church with biblical elder leadership in a very rural environment. We are looking for a Pastor: who will proclaim the Word of God; be the spiritual leader of the congregation in conjunction with the Board of Elders; give biblical instruction, admonish and correct the congregation according to the Word of God; administer Church ordinances, baptism and communion; do pastoral visitation, visiting the sick and suffering, and giving spiritual aid to those in need; preach the gospel both individually and corporately.
