Most youth groups never talk about disability. This free discussion guide gives youth leaders six ready-to-teach sessions on disability, worth, and faith, grounded in Scripture and designed for honest conversation.
Session Outlines
- Made in the Image of God: What does it mean to bear the image of God? Does disability change that? (Genesis 1:26-27)
- The Body of Christ Needs Every Member: What does 1 Corinthians 12 say about the members who seem weaker? What does that mean for the church? (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
- Jesus and the Marginalized: How did Jesus treat people with disabilities? What does that tell us about how the church should treat them? (John 9:1-7, Luke 14:12-14)
- Why Does God Allow Disability? An honest discussion of one of the hardest theological questions. (Job 1-2, Romans 8:18-25)
- Gifts the World Overlooks: What gifts do people with disabilities bring to the church that others might not have? (1 Corinthians 12:22)
- What Would It Look Like? What would a genuinely inclusive church look like? What would it take to get there? (Revelation 7:9)
Each session includes: biblical text, leader background notes, discussion questions for different age groups, and a closing prayer.
