Children’s Ministry Object Lessons: 30 Ideas That Stick

Children’s Ministry Object Lessons: 30 Ideas That Stick

Children do not learn abstract concepts by hearing about them. They learn by seeing, touching, and experiencing them. Object lessons bridge the gap between the abstract truth and the concrete experience.

The best object lessons use ordinary objects to illustrate extraordinary truths. They are memorable because they engage multiple senses. They are effective because they make the abstract concrete. And they are practical because the object itself becomes a reminder of the lesson long after the class is over.

Each lesson below includes the object, the concept it illustrates, the Scripture it connects to, and the application for children.

Ordinary objects
make the best object lessons, children connect with what they already know
One concept
per object lesson, do not try to illustrate multiple truths with one object
Application
is what makes the lesson stick, always end with something specific children can do
