#symc2010 Don’t ever give up on your teens….You could leave a suprising legacy.

When you need encouragement to keep doing the calling God has asked you to do, ask Him. Don’t look for it other places. You’ll cone up empty.

I received an awesome story of encouragement today from my wife. She was visiting one of the churches in which we used to serve. Several years ago, I had a girl in my youth ministry named K—–. She was from a broken home where there was a nastry divorce. She was a hard student to work with. To say that she did not want anything to go to church was an understatement. Her dad worked hard to bring her to church even though she did not want to be there.

A couple years after my family had moved to take a full-time ministry position, things got worse at home with K. Her dad, out of optios sent her to a program called teen challenge that works with troubled youth in a Christ-centered way. K came back a changed girl. She had a love for the Lord, her grades improved drastically improved, she even graduated High School a semester early! She is leaving in April to go on a three month missions trip to Africa. Her plans for college are to attend the local Baptist University majoring in Missions!

In 2003, I never could have imagined that we would be able to plant seeds of God’s Word that would have flourished into such a beautiful start to a life served for Christ. Youth Workers, keep it up. Don’t give up. You may be leaving a surprising legacy.
