This Friday I leave for the Simply Youth Ministry Conference in Chicago, IL. This will be my first time at SYMC, after several years of going to the Youth Specialties NYWC in various cities. My goals for the weekend:
- Refreshing of the Spirit – It’s been a hard few months adjusting to a new town, new position, and building the foundations in a new ministry.
- Networking – I am in that “middle ground” of not being a “youth ministry veteran of 10+ years“, but I’ve been around a while (entering my 9th year in Youth Ministry). I’d love to get together with other Youth Ministers that are where I am…Let’s trade ideas and stories
- Training - I am not about to downplay that I am almost giddy about the ideas, input, and training that I can bring back and implement ( …or avoid?)
- Perspective - I want to see what other Rural Youth Ministers are doing and ready to share stories of success and growth, along with failure and pain…
